Rhodes (Gabriel Rhodes) share a deep reverence for the stripped-back economy of J.J. Cale — the idea that a groove is most powerful when it breathes. Their debut album\, “Slow and Steady\,” is that philosophy made real: recorded live at Coastal Bend Music in Rockport\, Texas by John Macy. Built from two voices\, two electric guitars (sometimes slide)\, and a drum machine\, seasoned with some bass and Hammond organ.
