Monarch Migration Programs
Fall monarchs use the Texas coast as a fuel stop on a trip they have never flown before to Mexico. Scientists use numbered tags to track the journey.
Join Aransas Pathways and the Aransas County History Center for a one-hour monarch tagging program in the Center’s certified waystation garden. Texas Master Naturalist D’Ann Williams will walk the labeled beds (host vs. nectar), show the life cycle, and tag a wild monarch if one is on the flowers — or practice the official Monarch Watch method on a sample Monarch if the sky is empty. Either way, you leave knowing how our coastal yard becomes part of their big migration.
Two identical sessions — come to the one that fits your schedule:
Friday, October 16 • 11:00 a.m.
Sunday, October 25 • 2:00 p.m.
