Rhodes (Gabriel Rhodes) share a deep reverence for the stripped-back economy of J.J. Cale — the idea that a groove is most powerful when it breathes. Their debut album, “Slow and Steady,” is that philosophy made real: recorded live at Coastal Bend Music in Rockport, Texas by John Macy. Built from two voices, two electric guitars (sometimes slide), and a drum machine, seasoned with some bass and Hammond organ. All songs written and performed by Jeff and Gabriel, with one three-way co-write with Chris Robeson. Bluesy, groovy, and deeply felt —don’t miss this exceptional evening!
